Therapeutic Massage in Silver Spring, MD

The knot you have
stopped noticing
does not have to stay.

The shoulder that never quite drops. The low back that decides what you can lift. The headache that starts behind one eye by Thursday. You have worked around it so long it feels like weather.

Massage at Pulse is clinical bodywork, not a spa hour. Our therapists work alongside our acupuncturists, so what they find in your tissue informs the rest of your care. Add cupping to any massage at no extra charge.

Three licensed therapists, Tuesday through Saturday.

What Makes This Different

Bodywork that talks
to the rest of your care

In The Room

An hour spent on what is actually wrong

Your therapist asks what hurts, what you do all day, and what you have already tried. Then they work, and they tell you what they found.

  • Deep tissue, myofascial release, trigger point and sports techniques, matched to your tissue
  • Cupping at no extra charge when you add it at booking
  • Assisted stretching and movement guidance you can use at home
  • A plain read on what they found and what it will take to change it
60 min $155  |  90 min $195
Alongside Acupuncture

Two hands and two medicines

Our therapists work in the same building as nine licensed acupuncturists, and they talk to each other. When pain has a postural or muscular piece and a nervous system piece, treating only one of them is why it keeps coming back.

Massage works directly on the tissue: adhesions, scar tissue, restricted fascia, the mechanical reasons a shoulder will not move. Acupuncture works on circulation, inflammation and the deeper regenerative capacity that lets repair finish.

Plenty of patients alternate the two through an injury and taper off as things hold. Your therapist will say plainly if that is worth considering for you.

Cupping costs nothing extra.
Add it when you book.

Where pressure pushes down, cups lift. That draws circulation into tissue that has gone quiet, which is often what finally moves a knot that has not budged under hands alone. Most places charge extra for it. We do not.

It is set up at the time of booking rather than added partway through a session. Select the massage with cupping option when you book online, or call the front desk at 240-641-4116 and we will add it for you.

Common QuestionsWhat people ask us
How do I know which therapist to book?

Read the three descriptions above and go with whichever sounds like your body. If you want deep, grounding pressure, start with Júlia. If you want a sports medicine eye on a specific injury, start with Johanna. If headaches, fibromyalgia or stubborn trigger points are the issue, start with Ben. Still unsure, call us at 240-641-4116 and we will match you.

How does cupping work with a massage?

There is no extra charge for it, but it does need to be set up ahead of time rather than added partway through a session. Select the massage with cupping option when you book online, or call the front desk at 240-641-4116 and we will add it for you.

How is this different from a spa massage?

A spa massage is designed to feel good for an hour. Ours is designed to change something. Our therapists assess what is actually restricted, work it directly, tell you what they found, and send you home knowing what to do about it. They also work alongside our acupuncturists, so your massage is part of your care rather than separate from it.

Should I book 60 or 90 minutes?

Sixty minutes is right for one region, a neck and shoulders session, or regular maintenance. Ninety is better for full body, or when pain spans several areas and you want all of it addressed in one visit. Cupping can be added to either one. If you are not sure, start with 60 and your therapist will tell you honestly what the right length is next time.

Can I combine massage with acupuncture?

Many patients do, especially when pain has both a muscular and a nervous system component. Massage addresses the tissue directly while acupuncture supports circulation, inflammation and deeper repair. Ask your therapist or acupuncturist whether pairing them makes sense for what you are working with.

Do you accept insurance?

We are out-of-network. If your plan has out-of-network benefits, your insurance may reimburse part of your visit. We provide a superbill (an itemized receipt) to submit, or our front desk can submit the claim for you for a small fee. HSA and FSA cards are accepted.
